For a limited time, a new federal utility assistance program is available to help customers with their water and sewer bills.

The Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP), which is available until September 30, 2022, will help low-income families experiencing hardship with water and sewer bills, particularly those who have been disconnected or are facing disconnection.

LIHWAP is a new, emergency water assistance program created and funded by the federal government and administered by the Ohio Department of Development.

Customers with a household income at or below 175% of the federal poverty guidelines are eligible to receive a one-time benefit of up to $750 for water bills and $750 for sewer bills.
