Drinking Water Week
We welcome you to join us on Saturday, May 11, 2019 to celebrate Drinking Water Week! This year's Open House will be held at the Baldwin Water Treatment Plant in the University Circle/Fairfax neighborhood.
Explore our state-of-the-art facilities and enjoy free plant tours, family-friendly activities, water-related demonstrations, hands-on exhibits, food trucks and our NEW Kids' Zone. Baldwin opened in 1925 in response to Cleveland's rapid growth after World War I. An outstanding feature of Baldwin is its enormous covered reservoir, which is one of the largest in the world. At the Open House, you'll meet the people who work hard each day to ensure safe, quality drinking water is there for you wherever and whenever you need it. The event provides a fun and educational opportunity to learn how water gets from Lake Erie to your home.
Cleveland Water participates in the Partnership for Safe Water, administered by the American Water Works Association and focused on improving the quality of water delivered to customers by optimizing water system operations. As a participant, Cleveland Water voluntarily holds itself to higher water quality standards than those required by regulation.
