Cleveland STEP students were granted a virtual all-access pass to learn about Cleveland Water, the 10th largest water system in the country.
They were able to view the Garrett Morgan Water Treatment Plant as well as learn about Garrett Morgan’s contributions, how a water tank empties, and how the staff keeps the water flowing even during a pandemic.
They also learned about our water supply, the multi-barrier approach for water treatment, and the distribution process that serves our 1.4 million customers across five counties. The students concluded this session with a behind-the-scenes virtual tour of key chemical injection points, the pipe gallery, and our 1.5 million gallon reservoir led by Cleveland Water Commissioner Margevicius and Assistant Plant Operator Alexandra Griffin.
