Alex Margevicius Appointed Commissioner of Water

Today, we are excited to announce the appointment of Alex Margevicius to Commissioner of Cleveland Water. Commissioner Margevicius was sworn in this afternoon by City of Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson in the Red Room of Cleveland City Hall.

As a native Clevelander and our resident Cleveland Water historian, Commissioner Margevicius is passionate about the Cleveland Water System where he began his career in 1985 as a Civil Engineer. At the time he was responsible for coordinating engineering and Capital Improvement Projects for the division. He most recently served as Interim Commissioner and previously as Assistant Commissioner of Engineering.

Throughout his 30 years of experience, Commissioner Margevicius has earned the respect and admiration of many from within the water industry, as well as from elected officials and employees. A true professional and leader, his expertise in the design and operation of large, complex water systems, and his knowledge of Cleveland Water’s distribution system infrastructure has helped create a water system that many consider to be one of the top water systems in the world today.

Congratulations Commissioner! We look forward to your continued leadership.
