Students visited Osborn Engineering where they learned about the global green building rating system. The students were able to connect with the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the United States Green Building Council’s (USGBC) team of Emerging Professionals, who taught the students about the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification process.
Students visited the Shaker Heights Police Department where they learned how officers use science and technology to solve crimes. They also toured the facility, gained a better understanding of the criminal investigation process, and listened to officers recollect a case that took six years of teamwork, patience, and bravery to solve.
For their final session, Cleveland STEP students enjoyed food and fun with friends and family before giving presentations on their experiences from the program year.
