UPDATE (11/17/17) Cleveland Water has not received any water quality or discoloration calls related to shutting down the 54-inch water main for emergency repairs on Wednesday, 11/15/17. The water is safe to drink and use as normal. THERE IS NO BOIL ALERT IN EFFECT.
While crews are still in the process of making repairs, we will continue to monitor the water quality to ensure there are no issues.

The discoloration that was affecting water in the vicinity of E. 152nd Street has been resolved. If you are still experiencing discoloration, run your tap for a few minutes until the water runs clear. If possible, use the lowest sink in your home for flushing (ex., a basement utility tub). Use cold water only! If this does not resolve the issue, please contact our 24-hr Emergency Service Line at 216-664-3060.
Cleveland Water is working to resolve reports of discoloration in the water for some eastside suburban communities. These include Beachwood, Garfield Heights, Highland Heights, Lyndhurst, Maple Heights, Mayfield Heights, Moreland Hills, Pepper Pike, Shaker Heights, South Euclid, Warrensville, and Woodmere.
The water is safe to drink and use as normal. However, customers who experience discoloration should refrain from doing laundry since it may stain clothing. THERE IS NO BOIL ALERT IN EFFECT.
We continue to flush hydrants in the East Side 2nd high service area after repairs on a 48 inch main required a change in flow patterns and caused discolored water yesterday for customers. At this point, the discolored water has been flushed from most of the system. The water in mains in the streets is essentially clear, and customer homes should be running clear too. Should customers notice there is still discolored water in their home, they should allow their water to run for several minutes to clear the plumbing throughout their property.
Customers in the 2nd high eastern suburbs of Cleveland may experience discolored and/or cloudy water over the next 24 hours as we work to make scheduled repairs on a 42 inch transmission main serving the area.
There is no boil alert in effect. The water is safe to drink and use as normal.
Discolored water that originated from our Garrett A. Morgan Water Treatment Plant is now running clear in plant samples and any affected customers should begin seeing their tap water clear by evening if they have not already. The water remains safe to drink and affected customers can resume laundry as normal when the water is visually clear.
On Sunday, May 17th, we experienced a brief power outage at one of our eastern pump stations. As a result, some customers in Beachwood, Solon, Orange, Pepper Pike, Mayfield Heights and Woodmere experienced discolored water. Crews were dispatched and worked through the night to flush hydrants and help clear the water as quickly as possible. As of Monday morning, the water was back to normal and no further reports of discolored water were received.
