Harvest For Hunger contributions doubled at 2017 DPU Race to End Hunger

Each year, Cleveland Water employees participate in the City of Cleveland’s Harvest For Hunger campaign. It’s a great way for us to collectively give back to the communities we serve but it also helps bring us together with our colleagues. This year our main event was so successful, we more than doubled the contributions raised in previous years at the event.

2016 Water Quality Report Now Available

We are proud to announce Cleveland Water’s 2016 Water Quality Report is now available. This annual report provides an overview of our water quality during the past year, including testing results and information.

We know our drinking water is essential to the quality of life of more than 1.4 million people in 80 communities. That’s why we are committed to providing our customers with safe, high-quality, drinking water at the turn of a tap any hour of the day.

What You Need to Know About Lead in Water

Cleveland Water takes multiple steps to make sure the water you drink is safe from a variety of potential contaminants, including lead.

Happy Global Day of the Engineer!

Every day engineers apply principles of science, math and technology to advance the lives of millions of people around the world. At Cleveland Water, our engineering section has many responsibilities aimed at providing a reliable supply of safe, quality drinking water as efficiently and effectively as possible.

The Facts About Fluoride

Drinking tap water with fluoride is one of the easiest and most beneficial things you can do to help prevent cavities. Fluoride is a naturally-occurring mineral that strengthens teeth by reducing tooth decay when in drinking water.

Cleveland Fire is Now Accepting Applicants for New Firefighters

Fire needs three things in order to burn – oxygen, heat and fuel – and water makes it hard for the fuel to be in contact with the air. So, water helps to prevent combustion and thus, fire. That means we have a few friends at our local fire departments we need to support; and, more than 75,000 fire hydrants throughout out service area to which we need to keep the water, and water pressure, flowing!

The Science Behind Water Quality

Delivering safe, quality drinking water to our customers is important. It takes a lot of science and a lot of engineering – from chemistry, biology and freshwater ecology to civil, sanitary and electrical engineering. Understanding laws, regulations, and industry standards are also critical to ensuring the water we provide our customers is safe.
