Home Protection Program

Most customers don’t know that they are responsible for maintaining and repairing the water and sewer lines running from the curb to their home. If these lines break, you could face large, unexpected home repair bills.

Tips to Protect Your Home this Winter

Winter weather is on its way and as temperatures drop your water pipes and meter are susceptible to freezing. Frozen pipes can cause expensive, frustrating and unnecessary damage. Fortunately, it’s easier than you might think to protect your home and control your utility costs.

Follow these simple steps now to help you prevent your water pipes and meters from freezing this winter:

Healthy Water Habits

Cleveland Water’s state-of-the-art water treatment process uses orthophosphate, an anti-corrosive that creates a thin layer of film inside water pipes throughout our system. Orthophosphate acts as a barrier on metal pipes and fixtures to prevent lead from leaching into the water. This protection works on both cityside connections and customer-side connections, plus the plumbing and fixtures inside your home. Cleveland Water knows orthophosphate is an effective preventative measure.
