On May 9th, Cleveland Water celebrated National Drinking Water Week by offering tours and activities for all at our oldest water treatment plant, Garrett A. Morgan. We were pleased to welcome nearly 2,000 people to learn firsthand how water gets from Lake Erie to homes and businesses!
This year’s celebration offered much more than just a tour, however. Those who attended were able to get valuable information about their water quality and witness how their drinking water is treated and tested more than 300 times each and every day. Visitors also learned tips about how to control utility costs, how to protect themselves from fraud, and how to help us keep our Great Lake and our neighborhoods clean and safe. Cleveland Police, Fire and EMS, as well as the Cleveland Metroparks, the Greater Cleveland RTA, and many more Cleveland Water partners offered children’s activities, giveaways, equipment tours, and more.
We want to thank all who supported the event and all those who came out to celebrate the importance of water in our daily lives during this 2015 Year of Clean Water!
