Cleveland STEP is a fun, free educational program for 6th through 9th-grade students interested in science, technology, engineering, and math.
Students participate in hands-on activities led by STEM professionals, learn what it takes to pursue a career in a STEM field, and meet new friends.
The monthly classes visit and interact with premier Cleveland-area businesses and cultural institutions. Previous class sessions have:
- Gone behind-the-scenes at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History
- Learned what it takes to be part of a NASA crew from the NASA Glenn Research Center
- Attended the Case Western Reserve University Engineering Challenges Carnival
- Participated in projects led by Cleveland Institute of Art professors demonstrating how art, science, and technology intersect
Students who will be in 6th through 9th grade at any school in the Cleveland Water/Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District service area are eligible to apply.
The program is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. one Saturday of each month from September through April.
