New
Fixed Charge
-
Effective
July 16, 2011, in addition to
your current consumption charge,
you will incur a new quarterly
fixed charge based on meter
size. Most customers will begin
seeing this charge on their
October bill.
Discounted
Block Usage
-
On January 1, 2012, the
consumption rates will increase
and the volume for the 1st
discounted block of usage will
be reduced from 1 MCF
(approximately 7,500 gallons)
per quarter to 0.6 MCF
(approximately 4,500 gallons)
per quarter.
The
fixed charge will not increase
in 2012.
Future
Rate Changes
-
On January
1, 2013, both the fixed charge
and consumption rates will
increase on an annual basis
through 2015. Consumption rates
vary by rate districts that are
determined by the distance from
and elevation above
Lake
Erie.

Homestead
Discounted Rates
-
Low income
homeowners (annual incomes below
$30,000) who are 65 years of age
OR
are
permanently and totally disabled
qualify for Homestead
Rates.
These
rates have a lower fixed charge
and lower consumption rates.
Affordability
Discount
Program
-
Customers
who qualify for the federally
funded Home
Energy
Assistance
Program (HEAP)
are eligible to participate in
CWD's
Affordability
Discount
Program.
This
Program provides a 40% discount
to low-income homeowners.
